Notifiable activities under the Environmental Protection Act 1994
A notifiable activity is an activity your business conducts and that could potentially cause harm to the environment. If you are conducting a notifiable activity as per Schedule 3 of the Environmental Protection Act 1994, you will need to notify DES using the approved form.
However, if you have an approved environmental authority which allows you to conduct a notifiable activity you are not required to notify DES.
Registration as a suitable operator
You can check if you are already registered online. If you haven’t previously registered, you must complete an online application or request the suitable operator registration form via email and submit to DES using the postal details found on the form.
