Welcome to the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) program.

RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Somerset Regional Council
to support local arts and culture in Regional Queensland.

Grants

What kinds of projects are eligible for a RADF grant?

The program supports locally determined professional arts, cultural and heritage development opportunities by providing one-off, short term, project based financial assistance to groups and individuals. Activities must align with one of the set funding categories and meet eligibility requirements.

For full eligibility details and information about what RADF does NOT support, please read the Information for Applicants document.

Assistance is available in the planning of your RADF project and the drafting of your application. Contact the RADF Liaison Officer on 5424 4000 or email mail@somerset.qld.gov.au.

When can I apply for a RADF grant?

RADF grants will be assessed in four rounds per year. Listed below are the upcoming round dates:

Due to the 2024 local goverment elections, there will be no Round Two of the Regional Arts Development Fund. Please contact Council’s RADF Liaison Officer for further information and to discuss your project.

RADF Funding Purpose

RADF supports the delivery of outcomes that meet the priority areas of the ‘Arts for all Queenslanders’ strategy:

  • Artistic, cultural, social and economic returns on investment;
  • Strengthen commercial and entrepreneurial capacity;
  • Strengthen cultural tourism; and
  • Grow public value of arts and culture.

RADF Objectives

  • Supporting locally determined arts and cultural priorities;
  • Supporting local artists and arts and cultural activity;
  • Providing opportunities for local communities to participate in arts and cultural activities.

Across Queensland, 61 Councils participate in RADF. The program will operate differently in each council region as each council responds to locally identified needs and priorities.
