Your library card grants access to two modules in the AMES Suite. World Wide English provides beginner and intermediate general English courses with a work, life and study focus whilst Living in Australia is a general English course for students beginning to learn to speak the language.

How do I login?

Be Connected

Be Connected is an Australia-wide initiative empowering people to thrive in a digital world. Work through the topic library with self-paced courses. New topics are always added.

Courses include:

  • Getting started: Essential skills to get started online
  • Connecting to others: Get set up with the correct equipment to make video calls
  • Safety First: Essential skills to stay safe online

How do I login?

You can use Be Connected without logging in, however, creating an account allows the website to keep track of your progress so you don’t have to.

To login or create an account, click ‘Sign in/up’ in the top righthand corner of the screen.

You will be presented with the option to either sign in or create an account. Your library membership is not your account; you will have had to have accessed the website previously to have an account.

First time login:

You will only have to sign up for a Be Connected membership once. If you have signed up before, please refer to the login instructions. If you have not yet created an account and would like to do so, click ‘Create new account’. You will need an email address that you have ready access to in order to sign up.

You will be presented with an online form to complete which will take details including your name and email address. Follow the instructions listed on the page, paying particular attention to the password requirements. You will be asked for the name of your support centre; please list ‘Somerset Regional Council’ (if you start typing it will appear in a drop-down box). When you have filled out the required fields, click ‘Sign up for free’ to finish creating your account.

Repeat user login:

You will need to enter your email address and the password that you selected when you created the account. Click ‘Log in’ when you have filled out these details.

If you cannot remember your password click ‘Forgotten your username or password?’ and follow the prompts to resetting your password.

How do I login?

First time login:

Enter your library card number and PIN into the respective fields and click 'LOG IN' to continue. When prompted, enter your first name, last name and email address into the fields on the next screen. You will also be prompted to create a password of at least 8 characters. When you have filled in these fields, click 'SUBMIT' to create your Creativebug account.

Repeat user login:

Enter your library card number and PIN into the respective fields and click 'LOG IN' to continue. Proceed to click the 'log in now' button on the next screen. When prompted, fill in your email address and password that you created at the time of sign up, clicking 'SIGN IN' to proceed.

If you cannot remember your password click ‘Forgot password?’ and follow the prompts to reset your password.

Once you have created your account for the first time, you are also able to login directly from the application or main homepage of the website.

Users can explore 3D models by zooming in, rotating, or pulling them apart. Clicking through each session displays relevant reference content related to each 3D model. Selected 3D models can also be printed out.

How do I login?

You do not need a Gale subscription to access Gale Interactive: Science but you will need your library card.

When prompted, enter your library barcode into the box and press 'Sign In'.

Haynes Manuals

Haynes Manuals is a library of manuals covering a vast range of car and motorcycle makes and models, with up-to-date content including common repairs, routine maintenance and servicing procedures. Somerset Libraries is now able to offer free access to hundreds of online car and motorcycle manuals through its subscription to Haynes Manuals.

How do I login?

By following these steps you will be reading about your car or motorcycle in no time.

To get to the login screen, click ‘Login’ in the top righthand corner of the screen.

The login screen will greet you with several different options: you want to ‘Find your institution’. Type Lockyer Valley and options will appear. Select ‘Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset Libraries’. When you have found this option, click on it.

You will be presented with an additional login screen that will ask for your library card number. Go ahead and write your library card number in this box and click ‘Go’ when done. It is as simple as that.

How do I login?

You do not need a LinkedIn account to access LinkedIn Learning but you will need your library card.

The first step is to accept your invitation to join LinkedIn Learning by clicking ‘Get started’. You will then be presented with a request to verify your library card. You will need to type your library card number and PIN into the respective fields. Once you have done this click ‘Continue’ to start your LinkedIn Learning journey.

Your first-time logging in you will be presented with a short survey asking for your learning interests, this is so LinkedIn Learning can tailor the learning journey to you.

National Geographic is a State Library of Queensland database and requires a State Library of Queensland membership (separate to Somerset Libraries membership) to use.
