TOURISM in Somerset is set to take off with the launch of a new visitor guide, website and destination video.

Experience Somerset, the destination brand of Somerset Regional Council, launched the campaign on Wednesday (15 May) night.

Tourism operators, visitor information centre volunteers, Somerset tourism business owners, industry partners and Somerset councillors attended the launch event at The Condensery | Somerset Regional Art Gallery in Toogoolawah.

Somerset Regional Council Mayor, Jason Wendt, said that the launch was a vital step in staying ahead in a competitive tourism industry.

“Tourism is an ever evolving and highly competitive industry, and it’s so important that our material is current, relevant and has market appeal”, Cr Wendt said.

“The new-look collateral hits the mark by featuring authentic country language, local stories, captivating imagery and showcases the unique offerings that make up the Somerset experience.”

Queensland Country Tourism Chief Executive Officer, Peter Homan echoed these sentiments, emphasising the exciting future for the Somerset region.

“Queensland Country Tourism looks forward to the exciting developments unfolding for Experience Somerset, with the launch of their new campaign. This is a testament to the dedication of the team at Somerset Regional Council - their efforts in bringing this campaign reflect their commitment to promoting tourism in the region” he said.

“As we know, Somerset is an irresistible gem for tourism, given its proximity to Brisbane and its array of attractions. This new campaign will undoubtedly serve as a valuable asset in showcasing the region and attracting visitors seeking memorable experiences."
